Dossier Connection
Privacy Policy
Effective September 11, 2026
This policy explains how Howler Investigative ("Howler," "we," "us," or "our") handles information through Dossier Connection, our internal integration between signed engagement agreements and Intuit QuickBooks Online.
Information we process
Dossier Connection processes the information needed to turn a completed Howler Investigative engagement agreement into a QuickBooks Online customer record and invoice. This may include a client name, email address, telephone number, engagement identifier, invoice amount, invoice status, and related QuickBooks customer and invoice identifiers.
When you connect QuickBooks Online, Intuit provides authorization tokens and company identifiers. We do not request or store your QuickBooks password.
How we use information
We use this information only to match or create customers, create invoices for signed engagements, send those invoices through QuickBooks, prevent duplicate invoices, troubleshoot failed automations, and maintain required business records. We do not sell personal information or use QuickBooks data for advertising.
Sharing and service providers
Information is shared only with service providers that support this workflow, including Intuit QuickBooks Online, the signing service used for engagement agreements, and infrastructure providers operating the automation. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect legal rights. We do not share QuickBooks data with unrelated third parties.
Security and retention
Access is limited to authorized personnel and protected with administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. Data is transmitted using encrypted connections where supported. Records are retained only as long as needed for accounting, contractual, legal, security, and operational purposes, then deleted or de-identified when appropriate.
Your choices
You may disconnect the application from QuickBooks through your Intuit account. To request access, correction, or deletion of information, contact us. Certain accounting or legal records may need to be retained even after a request.
